Paddy,
How do you reckon your snake got the Ticks?
Do you let it have a roam in the garden, or is is a new purchase ?
Have you recently put some rocks or branches in the viv from the garden?
You need to establish where they have come from. Ignore much of above, I just noticed your earlier replies! LOL!

To treat I would remove the ticks by using liquid parafin on the tick, soak a cotton bud and place it on the tick covering completely, do all the ticks and then put the snake back in the viv with no sustrate other than white paper, watch as the ticks fall off harmlessly and remove.
As has been stated, when removing with tweezers you risk leaving head/mouth parts in the snake, which can cause infection.

Once the snake is free of all the adults, use TOD or I have used 'Frontline' flea spray, the TOD you just spray and leave, making sure to remove the water(Important), good to kill stuff in the viv and on the snake, the Frontline is good also, but you just wipe over the snake after spraying onto a cloth. You can spray it into the viv to, but you have to wipe off the excess afterwards, can be time consuming and messy.
Both have been tried and tested safely, but the TOD, would be the preference as it is quicker and easier.

Repeat after 7-10 days incase of egg's that have hatched, TOD and others don't have much effect if any on the egg's of external parasites.

Hope it helps.

Neil
