This used to be quoted quite often when I was a kid but I have never been shown emperical evidence. I have seen kangaroos flee across water ( over large river stones too

) and they can move quite quickly if the water is less than half a meter deep. It would take an excitable and stupid dog to chase a large animal into deep water but the are no shortage of excitable and stupid dogs.
But remember kiddies, kangaroos can be dangerous animals. If you do want a kangaroo to attack you, just approach a male animal bent over then straighten up and show your chest. This is the standard male kangaroo threat display. I suggest you have your medical insurance paid up fully before you try this. :wink:
