I wouldn't worry too much at this stage. The Blond mac may be just having a very big growth spurt. There is no way that mites will trigger a double shed that quickly. If they have major scale injuries, then snakes may shed every couple of weeks to add in recovery. As you stated it is eating like a champion, so lets hope its just growing fast.

Wait till it sheds and see if it starts eating well again. If it does, don't worry about it.
