There are differences, but it really comes down to how finely you think the hair should be split, much the same way as you can get people selling brissie coastals and cairns coastals.
I do know that there is currently a program to breed and release MD as part of the bounceback project and the breeder animals were selected from either a known lineage or because they had SA characteristics.
