You would have a lot more confidence if you met the people in this project. Currently the MD is locally extinct in many areas of its previous range. There has been a huge effort to remove feral animals and numerous breeding/release projects of various species are being run throughout the state (operation bounceback), the MD project is just one that has been approved by the SA NPWS. Animals of known SA linage are very hard to come by hence the requirement for animals to appear to be from SA.
