I've seen my brisbane carpets do it a couple of times (only as juveniles and when extremely hungry), my waters have done it and of course the adders do it all the time. You'll also see them wriggle their tails when they're freaked out sometimes, but this is very different and obviously to detract attention from the other (more critical) end.

The gillen's monitors wriggle their tails sometimes, it's really odd and I haven't worked out why they do it.
