I had one of my ball pythons escaped one time. I turned the house over looking for her. No luck. I decided to leave the cage open in case she decided to come home. After a week I had given up hope. Then one night I came in and she was laying in her cage looking at the open lid. I was amazed. I fed her and closed the cage, thanking my lucky stars. Next morning I went to look in on her, and she was gone again. ***?!?!?!

On closer inspection, I realized that her hid rock was rather heavy. It was one of those plastic cave type things. It had a little hole in the bottom, and she had squeezed herself into the hollow rock. Apparently she had never escaped in the first place. Amazing thing was that for over a week I had her cage wide open, and she never left.
