You might also try breeding your own crickets
http://home.earthlink.net/~forestgum.../CRICKETS.HTML or roaches which are easy, some flowers such as dandelion roses hibiscus they also like..surely if you ask nicely someone will let you pick a few from there gardens...... or you could just make a run for it!
