I used to have a male thick tail, now Sherm owns him and this is what I told him on how to care for the little guy.....

To be honest I don't know too much about gecko's... I taught myself from reading on the net how to look after him.... I had him in a 2ft tank..... and hea had stacks of room.... He eats 3 - 5 med crickets every 2 - 4 days

They only bark when they get scared.... He got out once and was scared of me to pick him up and its sort of a mix between a hiss and grunt and bark lol

I have a medium habistat heat mat on a timer (no thermostat) going on 2 hours then off for 2 then back on again from like 8 am to 8pm and then off all the time at night....

To be honest they are one of the easiest reptiles to take care off.... He was going great with the way I am keeping him

In the tank I had moist peat moss on the ground with a bromeliaed plant in there hence the size of the tank with a ceramic hollow log and a bit of drift wood and a water bowl..... They don't like it too hot so even in summer you could do without the heat mat but in winter it would be needed.... I also had a uv fluro on top of the cage, he would come out in the day time wih that on

He is the type of reptile you can get and forget about unless you watch at night (remembering they are nocturnal)
