Junglepython,i Have kept lots of male diamonds together all year round with and without females and have never seen any fighting.

I do believe that the scent of the Murray darling carpet played a big part in this as your 2 male diamonds werent fighting beforehand.If the carpet was never put in the diamond enclosure do you think the diamonds would have fought anyway? What was their body posture like during the combat ?
Is it possible the M.D.carpet had rodent scent on it which in turn got the diamonds going ? Im just trying to raise some possibilities but if you believe they were fighting then they probably were. If they continue try and get some photos.
