I know when I saw pictures of diamond hatchlings for the first time I thought they were coastals and was very suspicious. It was only through perusing earlier posts on this site that I learned that colour develops over time.

Most poeple have only ever seen adult or sub-adult snakes I guess (at the zoo or wild life parks). It's pretty rare you get to see hatchlings unless you are a breeder.

I would only want to see pics of the parents now though if I am buying a hatchling.
