The enclosures I make have a division in the middle the alows the snake to move from side to side. This enables them to seek out heat when needed or feel day, night and seasonal temp fluctuations on the cool side as it is uneffected buy the warm side and thus is always room temp. Simple.
Most sladehammer prey setups do not alow this and they end up with a gradiant of30-32 at hot end and 25 or so at cool end, WRONG. IMO not good at all, they should be able to have acsess to temps below 10 degrees if the room gets that low but as stated most set ups do not alow this and this can end up in metabolic burn out. Most if not all snakes NEED metabolic rest but most peolpe will not alow them to.
