It depends on the coastal you have and it's temperment. I've had my coastals pair for over 10 years now and my big male 9ft + is a big pussy cat. I've only be tagged twice by him at that size and both times where my fault. ie not washing hands after cleaning out the rats and BANG! food response, good fun everyone should try it

Pick your snake for temperment, treat it well and know it's habits and you will know what it's about to do before it does. I believe they make great starter Herps though others might recommend children's, it all depends on the size your wanting as an adult.
