its quiet possible that this time of year being rather cold, that the crate serves as a winter home, where it is easy to access the sun for periodic sunning, this time of year it wouldnt be after food and frogs are generally the perfered prey which would also be rare this time of year, I would suggest that the crate be placed out of the sun and cleared up around and see if he/she returns....
