I have spent pretty much all of my life in the UK except the last 3 and a half years here in Australia.
The Herp scene in the UK has changed a little over the last 5-6 years, The RSPCA has a hate of reptile keeping, and so do many of the active Animal Rights groups, who spend alot of time and money into trying to knock the hobby done. Almost all shows where animals could be bought were either cancelled or made just exhibit's, where as before you could pretty much buy anything from one of 10 or more shows per year.
The authorities were also going to change the DWAA (Dangerous wild animals act) licence to include large constrictors like Burmese, Retic's, Anaconda's and maybe even boa's, anything that got over 9-10 ft.
Not sure if this bill has gone through or not yet.

Apart from that, you can keep most species in the world, theres a huge selection being captive bred, but you still get your imports to.

Alot of people from the UK go over to Europe, to the big snake show's like Hamm(Germany ) and Utrecht(Holland), it's here where you can get your hands on some real bargains or rare stuff and come back to the UK with a export permit on the day if the species require it.

PM me and let me know where you will be going and I might be able to put you in contact with some people.

Lastly, why would you want to go to the UK?? Just kidding, you obviously have some work or something to go to, I just can't stand going back now I have lived in Australia!

Cheers Neil
