Some people offer chickens for a bit of variety, you could try that if you like but I've never heard of offering whole eggs to them.
I've heard somewhere that it can be used if you have a stubborn feeder, take away the water bowl and give it a bowl of raw egg, but I wouldn't offer them normally (imagine if it squeezed it too hard, it would be quite messy
).
In the wild most pythons would eat whatever they could get, mammals, birds, reptiles and some species even eat fish (Water Pythons do I'm sure). Arafura File Snakes and sea snakes would only eat fish because they live in the water.
