Not a problem steevo with the air temp being cooler,if you use heat matts in or underneath an enclosure or tub make sure your measuring the actual surface temp the snake is on with a heat gun of some sort. Some sizes and wattages of heat matts and tape get very hot on the surface 40 plus c and besides melting plastic and fire etc snakes dont like laying on it over mid thirtys temp its just too hot.You need a rheostat for some wattages eg. exo terra 25 watt under tank matts that go to 40 plus quick, the common thing going round is the use of thermostats with them but they dont work even if you tape a probe under or on top ive tryed it and measured the result with a heat gun.Thermostats are made for air temps and the matts can run out up to 10 c,its somewhere on herptrader about the use of the probe thermostat 0 to 40s with matts and its wrong, the rheostat theyve added to herp trader is the way to go.
