Craig, the main difference I suppose would be that the Stimsoni has the "pale ventrolated line" as described in Wilson and Swan's book.

Here's what they say:
Children's Python pattern week or sometimes absent on adults but discernable on juveniles. Tan to reddish brown or purplish brown with numerous slightyly darker, smooth-edged,roughly circular blotches.


Stimson's Python: Pattern usually prominent and including <u>pale ventrolateral line</u>.Pale brown,yellowish brown to cream, irregularly marked with numerous darker brown to reddish brown, smooth-edged circular to elongate blotches.
