make sure you clean your hands before trying to hanle it too, they may have other smells on them. or when you feed the mice to it in the other tub, before you touch them rub your hands in the toilet corner of the mouse tank to stop the mice from smelling like your hands when you pick them up. (the snake may asssoiciate your smell with the mice because they have your scent on them) hopefully this helps
