RE: enclousure decoriations

I use wood logs in all my enclosures, but i never collect anything thats been on the ground.That's when the creepy crawlies get in there, also the wood starts to decompose on the under side and you'll find that white ant have already found the log and made a home out of it, leaving the wood brittle and not suitable to use.Put what logs you can in a pre-heated oven at 200c + for 20-30 mins to kill any alge,bacteria, invertabrates and such. Then you can either varnish the logs to seal them and to make easier to clean.I remove all the loose bark. Before I put any reptiles in, I Top of decent the logs once set up just to safe, had no problems.
