RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: lil head syndrome advice please

Pictures would help hun, were all just guessing without seeing a pic. i would suggest you get him onto rats tho, and i know first hand how hard that can be. i have a coastal that developed a taste for mice when i ran out of rats and gave her a supp feed of mouse, she decided she would only eat mice from then on, and i could imagine how much work a fully grown coastal would be if she only ate mice. i put heer on starvation rattions till she took a rat. I too gave in a few times feeling sorry for her, and this is the biggest mistake (imho), snakes are designed to fast and you wont do your snake any harm by not feeding for a few weeks-months. (this is just my opinion) but i had to let my coastal get very hungry before she would even look at a rat, and then afer about 4 months i got her to take a fuzzy live rat..... after a few more weeks on live fuzzies i finally got her to eating dead fuzzies, but so far they must be fresh killed not frozen...... they can get very picky and it is very much a waiting game,,,,, the winner being the one who can out last the other, and snakes can be very persistant..... my advice, don't give in because you feel sorry for him, he wont starve to death, and will be much easier to feed once on rats,,,,,, ask yourself the same question i had to ask myself when dealing with a mouse eater, do you realy want a full grown snake that will only eat mice? you'll be looking at feeding him about 20 mice a week, or one good size rat!!!
as always this is just my opinion...... if you do not have a camera i'm sure there is someone on here in the town you live in,,,,, we are everywhere, i'm not sure where you are but if your in brisbane i would be mopre than happy to come round and take pix for you so you can get better advice on this matter, and i'm sure others will echo my sentiment.
