Too late in the year to breed Childrens pythons?

Looking at a couple of Childrens for my first breeding attempt but wondering if its tooo late for this year?
The big book says its ok till the end of the month. Whats your views on this and if all good whats the best temps to hit them with this late into the season? Some breeders it seems keep the temps down to 20-23c whilst others have a constant warm spot 28-29c.
Thoughts peoples?
