Snake shed question

Hi guys my 2.5 year old coastal went milky about 2 weeks ago and has fully cleared up now for about 4 or 5 days and by now she would normaly have shed but she hasnt yet, im not worried about it yet as iv read it can take this long and sometimes longer however iv tried putting her in warm water to soak but i was wondering wether the reason everyone says to soak them in warm water is to keep them from getting cold wile soaking them or does the warmnes of the water actually assist in the shedding process? i hope that made sense.
thanks guys
