Ok I am not as good at this as lots of people on here but just to help a little.

When the snakes are jouvies, then a click clack is good for a while, until it's bigger, babies tend to freak out if kept in something too big straight away.

Then for a jungle yeah a taller rather than wider cage is needed.

Someone on here will be able to give you sizes but I also like your idea of making one that's expandable, that' sounds good.

It's easier than it looks to build your own out of a nice furnature piece too, have a search around here and you will see some beauties!
