Egg eating snakes tend to be small and eat small eggs. I believe most have a bony structure inside their mouths with which to crack the egg. The contents of the egg are swallowed and the shell spat out.

I would image that if you evolved to eat eggs you would be able to digest them effieciently and what comes out the other end would not be overly arromatic.

I have heard of Australian snakes (eg taipans) in captivity eating the eggs of their cage mate as they are being laid. I am pretty sure however that you are talking of chicken eggs and not reptile eggs.
