Generally avoid handling for the first two weeks when you get him. Get him to feed and used to the new environment. When you start handling him, once a day 5-10 mins at a time. As he gets older and more comfitable and used to surroundings handle him for longer periods (usually 20-30 mins). avoid overhandling as this will stress him and be a detriment to your snakes health.
