python happy to be handled/plus feeding ???

probably a sill y question but...
ive only had my python for 3days and handle him everyday, ok twice a day but only for short periods of time(10 or 15 minutes), he doesn't react when i go to get him out of the enclosure, doesn't bite and just explores my arms/hands while im holding him (never gets defensive/ no hurry to leave) so im guessing hes happy being handled( happy as in not stressed) does this sound right and can i keep the contact up??

main reason im asking is that a lot of people recommend keeping the handling to a minimum.

second question, i dont know when he ate last (waiting for owner to contact me) but i tried to get him to take a pinkie, he sniffed ti but he wasnt interested, also tried a fuzzy over two days and not interested, is he just not hungry (my mates python would eat all day if it could) i know its nothing unusual but i am a concerned parent

thanks all
(yes my first reptile)
