O.k the heat mat should cover no more than 1/3 the enclosure, can be less not a problem with less. I tend to ventilate my cold end far more than the end with the heat mat. Optimum temp 28-32 is all good but I don't really monitor it that much in the wild the variance can be much different. The enclosure should be no more than the total length of the snake at the time, if they are young. They will stress to much if it is much bigger. Plenty of hides is good for young pythons, definatly one on your heat mat, and one at the cold end but for young ones I often scruntch up a piece of news paper and then pull it out a bit so that they can go under it through it and so forth. What type of bredli are you getting and how old/big is he.
