A temp enclosure IMHO, would be a click clack with a piece of dowel for now. It's cheaper in the long run, but if you want to build, that would be a personal preference

The use of Branches - either place in an oven or place in a black plastic garbage bag and leave in the sun for a week.

As for snappiness - depends on the personality of the snake. Just let her settle down for a couple of weeks and avoid disturbing or handling her in that time especially if she is about to shed. They generally settle in that time and become amenable to being handled.
