Odd snake skin in garden

Hey everybody i have an interesting question for you...

When my partners parents chopped down their tree in their rainforest garden they found 3 big, but not complete, snake skins. No massive surprise. However... on boxing day they found a full snake skin hanging over their pagola kind of thing. It's well over 2 metres. We finally tonight took it to my friends house who was looking through his books trying to identify it. He had at first guessed Coastal Carpet but the head scales seem to imply otherwise. They're much bigger, and match exactly with what a Scrubby shed should look like.

But we don't get Scrubby's natively in Townsville (apparently). Then again anything's possible.... What do you guys all reckon? I don't know if any of you know much about the Townsville area and snakes but if anyone does i'd be interested to know what you think (ie. is it possible to get a scrubby in this area and what other similar local snakes it could be with a head and scale pattern being scrub-like in the shed). I'm sorry i don't have any pics to post but if i can get some tomorrow i'll do it and post them.

Just got home from their place and am still curious so thought i'd see what you people thought.
