If you only have a pathetic soldering iron like myself (20w) it may not get hot enough to do it well, therefore I just ran a line of 'hard as nails' along where the mesh sits on the lid and push it into it. The hard as nails is fairly thick so as long as your mesh is fairly flat, it will hold it and dry hard. Did the job well with mine.
