There's not much difference really - next to none as far as husbandry is concern. Vitticeps can stand higher temps. Barbata often (not always) grow to be a bit bigger than vitticeps. Some like vitties because of their colouration more than barbata... Others like the patterning of barbata. You can also tell them apart I believe when they're younger by their neck structure... Some people may be able to add more that this though as I only keep vitties....
