Some herpers (most noticeably, Dave and Tracey Barker) believe that snakes can pick up on several air-borne sounds. I believe this too and i think that it's only a matter of time before a Herpetologist proves this to be correct!

I've heard people say that a snakes jaw has to be on the ground for the inner ear to be able to pick up the vibrations. I dont believe this.
