hi, i'm posting this for a friend, i can't help her out as i'm not into geckos, but i told her i knew where there were lots of people who could answer her questions, below is her questions in her own words,
" I've been reading all the postings about eggs and hatching times but most of these have been for snakes and I'm still waiting on some gecko eggs to hatch. They were laid on the 24th of November 2006 which means it has now been 78 days.
There are a lot of reasons why these may not hatch, they were laid shortly after the trauma of a long trip (via freight), we have some trouble with temps, another move when our house sold, some tiny tiny microscopic bugs that we've seen on them (does anyone know about these - could they be mites?) and I'm ashamed to say that one got dropped in the most tragic of circumstances around the time that we moved! Oh and these are the first eggs in my very limited reptile experience.
So I guess any help or advice would be appreciated, as I was under the impression that it would be between 50 and 70 days, I'd confirm that if I could find my books and my notes! Damn move has thrown everything into chaos.
The are underwoodies, from a previously successfully bred pair. For the most part they have been kept at about 28 - 30 degrees... One has collapsed, both have retained their colour and there is some small evidence of mould, which never progressed beyond a minor blemish...
Here's to hoping! Because I guess there's always some of that!
