the stack is suposted to be tight and have little light and air flow making a dark warm place for them to pick diffrent temps. alot of the stack ive seen on here realy have little use.

no ofence it just sounds like you are being lazy. you want what suits you and not the lizard.
you will have to change the stack as they grow its part of being a keeper ,read the animal and let them tell you what they need so you the keeper can suply it.
