Frog is his Gob

On the week end i took my python out for some fresh air. while he was out he was puffing up his throat like a frog. i was just wondering what this means and if this is common practice for SW carpets. he was running his head over my arm (still touching things with his head) so didnt look like he was in any pain and was not aggitated at all, just asking for a info set a new comers mind at ease
