My experience is that young water python are pugnacious.
But.. if you feed them heaps, by the time they are 6-7' they settle right down.
IMO, most people underfeed them. This is a python that will reach adulthood in 18 months in the wild in favourable conditions. I have only one water python now

and he was a poor feeder for nearly two years and not a nice snake to be around. Now that he's feeding well, he's settling right down.
Krissy, be aware wih your adults that their natural body shape is a lot heftier than that of a carpet python. Even wild water pythons are quite stocky. Feed them up in the off season and she'll reward you with large clutches.
