Feeding time

what are peoples experience with feeding there snakes in their cages almost all of the books from the states recomend removing your snakes from their cage to feed them in a modifyed bin or similar container . i started feeding my 4 meter olive in her cage about six months ago and she tagged me on the ankle when i was cleaning which is her first bite attempt in about 9 years.
