I feed most of mine in their enclosures and have never had a problem. If I go to pick them up and its not feeding time I make sure they are aware there is not food involved by touching them first approx 1/2 way down their bodies. I have some that are housed together, these are taken out of their enclosure, apart from one, (I have 4 childreni in one enclosure) and I do that randomly, whoever is closest and i can pick up first is the one that is removed. Hope this helps a little
