Mate, you atleast need to measure the temp in the unit. Put your probe in the unit this way it will measure the temp in the unit and not the glass temp or ambient temp. I have my probe next or as close to the heat source and set the temp to 2 thermometers in the unit. So, 1 in the middle & 1 at the cooler end. I just set the temp to suit the gradience.
