Apparently (well according to some experts and their studies anyways), somewhere along their evolutionary trek, some snakes have gained the ability to sense the changes in barometric pressure brought on by seasonal changes and therefore have the ability to sense the changes in season no matter what artificial conditions they are being kept in (although maybe if an artificial barometric pressure was introduced, they would have no idea?).

Having said all that though the majority of keepers don’t have total air-controlled rooms and then most of those who don’t, cool anyway by preference when they need to. So therefore you’ll find they’ll have a very good idea that winter is coming and that eating right now is not in their best interests.
