Thanks for the reply.
Yeah i know what you mean about the cash issue. i managed to scrounge up an aquarium light that promotes plant growth, i use that and a daylight colour temperature fluro for my black soiled dragons, mostly to regular night/day. on the odd occasion i but them out side in a lunch box (we call florida) for them to soak in the sun. the plastic lid probably filters the uv out for all i know. Also it is quite time consuming because i'm paranoid of birds or cats wanting a go at em.
I don't understand how the numbering system works ie 6 or 6.5 ect. I'm i lighting technician for the entertainment industry and from my knowledge light spectrum is measured in degrees kelvin. for example a normal tungsten light globe is 3200 degrees and normal daylight is 5600 degrees kelvin. I'm fairly convinced it is mostly fancy packaging and a hefty price tag. i'm sticking to what i have for my dragons cos after 3 years they are happy as .I just don't want to deprive my port mac, i really would only be taking it outside but i don't know if it is nesessarry or if so for how long.
