I love this debate, port -macs are a naturally occuring hybrid lol!
Although there are those who say they evolved in port macquarie completely seperate to the diamonds of the south and the carpets of the north (after all it's a great place to live). They should be a subspecies! I'm guessing their DNA will vary immensely!
