Looks like everyones avoiding this one so here's some advise.
Make sure you have all the legalities of taking a snake into that environment sorted before you even consider doing this. You'll need some sort of cover, either under the umbrella insurance of the school or relevant animal organization.
How you're going to talk about reptiles for 45 minutes is up to your knowledge but i don't like your chances of holding a captive audience. You will need to be able to answer some real curly questions and also listen to lots of "my dad" stories. Personal experience with that age bracket i can tell you that you'll have FA or Buckleys keeping them amused with one snake for more than 10 minutes.
