If this is true (amelanistic = albino) a completely green snake is an albino, as it has no melanin. This is incorrect, so no, they don't mean the same thing.
Obviously it doesn't lack
all pigment, that was a silly thing for me to say. My point was simply that an absence of al melanin does not make an animal an albino.
