well for starters after it was chipped if your snakes did get taken it would mean every vet would have to start scanning all the snakes they see for them to get picked up.

so yeah it would be ok but even if it had one then it dont mean it will get found

i have had several mates that had dogs either stolen or lost and have never seen again most of them stolen

and to be honest both my dogs have been chipped and have been to the vet several times and not once have they been checked so i could have stolen them for all they know

so yes good in theory
