The first time we put Phoenix and Pyro together, he missed and uhh 'went' on the floor
After that first unsuccessful encounter they were housed together for a week, I don't believe any copulation was actually sighted during this time, but Phoenix has since laid a clutch of 23 eggs (20 fertile) so he must have figured it out eventually!
If your male is having a crack at it, that's half the battle
He's bound to get it right eventually
