Beardy burried poop...?

i got home from work this afternoon, greeted by the horribly fortunate smell of beardy droppings, as he hadn't done any bussiness for a few days, only to look in the tank and not see a single drop.

i had a second look, and found a steaming pile of delight burried under the sand. my family all say they didnt put any sand over it, so what i want to know is; could my beardy have burried his own mess? is this common behavior?

just curious, thats all.
Thanks in advance,

Leigh
