You can breed a brother and a sister over and over and over and nothing bad will happen. The problem occurs when you breed those offspring together, with eachother and with their parents, and then those offspring back to the parents and grandparents etc etc. That's when you start shrinking the gene pool and problems/traits can arise. That's why purebred animals such as dogs often have problems like hip dysplasia etc
