People always forget live feeding is legal if the snake won't eat anything else - as is the case here.
But yeah, try fresh killed and just jiggle it by the tail in front of the snake - that way it smells live, is warm like a live one, and is wriggling like a live one.
As for the wound, it depends how bad it is and where it is? Gotta photo?
